Recreational Gymnastics

Gymnastics contributes to personal health, fitness and wellbeing and really is a sport for all to enjoy, no matter what age or ability. It’s an all-around fitness for the body and mind and is a great way to step into any chosen sport in the future.

The focus in Gymnastics at Tumble is to develop fitness and fundamental skills through fun and progressive movement in a safe environment while making friendships and building confidence along the way. Gymnastics progresses from beginner to full gymnastics skill level which are taught by many ex elite level gymnasts who have since grown up and become qualified in gymnastics coaching.

Children are encouraged to learn and experience a variety of basic movements across a range of apparatus and equipment and are encouraged to join our awards tracking weeks throughout the year to help motivate, track and develop different types of skills through a 1-10 level journey. With each level passed you will get the choice to purchase a medal and certificate signed by 2 British Olympic gymnasts.

Evening and weekend gymnastics classes start from school age onwards with the focus on fun challenges and development at all levels. The classes are run by experienced and enthusiastic coaches, dedicated to get children active in a safe and fun environment.

We also offer Gym Plus classes for children aged 10-17 which is slightly more challenging and progressive for the older children. All sessions are open ability classes so anyone can join at any time.

Note: For our gymnastics classes, your child must be in full time education (from Reception upwards) and our gymnastics classes are set as school years rather than ages. When booking please ensure that you choose the correct school year

Tumble Tricksters

This is a class for children aged 6 and up. Our Tumble Tricksters class is for those energetic children who have energy to burn.

Not your usual gymnastics session, this is tailored more towards the Parkour style of gymnastics which involves climbing and jumping and just generally letting off steam in a fun and safe environment.

They learn how to control their bodies safely while learning exciting ways to climb over blocks, jump on the trampolines, swing on the bars and tumble down the bouncy track. This class is structured but allows the children some free reign when it comes to progressing through skills. They get to use different types of equipment and are set challenges and assault course-type activities during the sessions.

We do not expect your child to have a background in gymnastics to be able to join this class.

2-2-1 Sessions

2 to 1 sessions are for 2 people with 1 qualified coach. These sessions are great for people who maybe aren’t as confident on a 1 to 1 basis or people who want to work with a friend on certain skills. These sessions are catered for their needs and allows them to work together on whatever they wish. This makes a great gift idea for an hour of fun with a friend or a good way to develop individual skills and techniques together on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis.

The top price for 1-1’s and 2-1’s is working with high performance coach and ex Olympic gymnast Paula.

You will be given exercises to work on at home as well as expert coaching and skill development. Paula has nearly 2 decades of experience working with many athletes to overcome mental blocks, polish competition routines, create floor and beam choreography and build confidence in all areas of gymnastics.

Spaces for 1-1’s and 2-1’s are very limited so if you are interested, please email info@tumbleactivity.com with the coach you would like or the amount you are looking to pay and we can check availability.

It is a requirement that all gymnasts participating in weekly gymnastics (excluding those on trial sessions) must have a British Gymnastics Membership which provides your insurance. We cannot allow your child to enter the gym without this. Please register your child at British Gymnastics. The cost of this is from £19 and is renewed annually every October.
